Writers Strike: Hollywood Apocalypse on Sunday Or Monday
That's the word after last night's big WGA meeting. Last-minute talks are still possible but it looks like the scribes are ready to hit the street as the workweek begins. The exact timing will be announced today. ... Late night comedies may be the first to show signs of a strike. The Times also has this line, after discussing the numerous local businesses that will suffer in a strike: "Starbucks thinks it might benefit from more people looking for a place to hang out, said a corporate spokeswoman." ... The agent who was the basis for Jeremy Piven's character in "Entourage" has come out with an odd statement. ... Some bloggers are siding with the writers. ... Zombies are striking in sympathy ... Well what really sucks are the families of the 'industry' that are salaried. No one to back them up. So hey strike away...while some may lose their homes, medical insurance and much more! So, writers when you add to your bank, ya gonna help those who lost everything! And studios, wow 1 more percent....really you know you are making money, but hey what do you care. Both of you are at fault. Grow up!
But no, let's just worry about wahhhh my shows will be in reruns! Really, what's new, most are anyways!
