"Friday Night Lights" To Return, Platform Neutral

The small but enthusiastic cult of "Friday Night Lights" fan is whooping it up this morning, drinking keg beer and impregnating cheerleaders, as NBC has renewed the show for a third season. But Deadline Hollywood Daily reports the savior of the show is really satellite's DirecTV, which stepped in as co-producer - Hollywoodese for "paid some of the bills" - in return for a satellite broadcast window that will come around the same time as NBC's airings.
