Upfronts Update: "Moonlight" Could Be Un-Dead!
There are reports that the canceled CBS vampire drama "Moonlight" could get picked up by Media Rights Capital, the media conglom that has bought Sunday nights from CW to air its own programming slate. Could cult fave Mick St. John (played by Alex O'Loughlin, right) bring CW its biggest audience to date - with a show canceled by another network, on a night that's been outsourced? That would be embarrassing.
But otherwise, CW's programming presentation yesterday left us with only the titles of four new shows that might air on Media Rights Capital Sundays: “Surviving Suburbia,” “Book of Murphy,” “I.M. Valentine, Investigations” and “Fat City.”
The "Moonlight" dramatics come before CBS even announces its fall schedule today. Word is CBS will renew all of its popular Monday comedies and perhaps use a couple of them to build a second night of comedy. We'll have all the details as soon as they're official, but we already know which shows are renewed and which are canceled. The only outstanding question is whether CBS moves to pick up Kelsey Grammer's "Back To You," which was dropped by Fox.

Save Moonlight CW. I love the show and can't believe that CBS did not give it a chance.

Yes, that would be embarrassing to CBS and you know they deserve it for doing this to all fans. I hope Media Group does pick up Moonlight. The CW would be a really good fit for this show. And Sunday nights would be a better time slot.

I am curious to see what MRC does with Moonlight (if they pick it up). It definitely seems like there is a lot of life left in this series and hopefully it will be given the chance to be explored.

I really hope this happens. TV Guide is now reporting that the show is indeed beeing shopped around. Someone has to snap up this gem. Steven is right, there is a lot of life left in Moonlight.

I sincerely hope that someone comes to their senses and picks up this gem of a show! Moonlight is too good to be resigned to the scrap heap!

Moonlight deserves another shot, preferably with a network that will let it be what it was designed to be, a noir romance...CBS has lost a viewer, and CBS sponsors have lost a customer, with the cavalier way they've treated Moonlight and its fans.

I sincerely hope that the CW (and MRC) will give real consideration to taking Moonlight into their fold. Its a great show and comes with its own audience, 8M strong. Moonlight will be a great fit with the CW network and it strong, rabid fanbase will give the CW its best audience to date. Come on, CW! Look at this as a gift and go with it!

Moonlight would be an asset to any network that had the sense to pick it up. I am hoping VERY hard that the CW or some other network will snap up this jewel, and fast!

Moonlight deserves a second chance! It had so many unfair disadvantages in its first season. I have never been so passionate about a TV show in my life and I'm nearly 50!
Whatever network will offer it a home, I & several million others will be there!
