Sex And The What, Now?
I don't know, maybe it's the inner guy inside my outer guy, but I never warmed up to "Sex and the City" the TV series, and I couldn't care less about "Sex," the movie. All weekend the newscasts were filled with stupid features telling us that lots of women were going to see the movie! And dressing up! And drinking Cosmos! They're supposed to be a girlie drink, but I actually kind of liked a well-made Cosmo until this weekend. Now I'll never have one again. Especially after hearing that the "Sex" movie knocked Indiana Jones out of the top spot at the box office. That's just wrong.
But anyway, this is a television blog, and I'm here to tell you that Kim Cattrall reportedly has signed for an HBO series pilot, "Sensitive Skin," about a middle-aged New York mom who "rediscovers her sexuality" and mulls changing her life. It's actually a remake of a British series, which starred former Bond girl and "AbFab" star Joanna Lumley. Cattrall actually seems a pretty good stateside analog. The good news: The showrunners are Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green, who were heavily involved in "The Sopranos." The bad news: It's about a middle-aged New York mom who "rediscovers her sexuality" and mulls changing her life.
