People Think President Palmer From "24" Is Real

This doesn't come as a great surprise, but "24" fans have a hard time separating reality and fiction - and also remembering what happened on the show. Dennis Haysbert, who played President David Palmer on the show (right), told the AP that fans constantly approach him and urge him to run in the presidential election. This even though his character was assassinated on the show, and Haysbert as been on "The Unit" for three seasons. But Haysbert said he hopes the Palmer character - a strong, brave, immensely ethical character - will help pave the way for Barack Obama's presidential campaign. And he has contributed $2,300 to Obama for President.
