"The Office" Spin-off...isn't?

Carell An amusing report by the well-sourced Nikki Finke suggests that "The Office" spin-off won't actually have anything to do with Dunder Mifflin. Finke says executive producer Greg Daniels finally won out in a dispute with NBC officials to make the show separate but equal in tone to "The Office." "Saturday Night Live" Emmy nominee Amy Poehler will star, along with young actor Aziz Ansari, who's also on "Scrubs." According to Pinke, Daniels may still find a way to accommodate NBC's desire that "The Office" star Steve Carell (right) appear in the pilot. The show is set to debut in the plum post-Super Bowl slot, unless Poehler's pregnancy interferes. She's supposedly due this fall.
