Morning Links on Jason Castro's Last Day on "Idol"

_ray3408 Man, last night was uhg-leee on "American Idol." Dreadlocks Boy is definitely going home, unless there's some sort of rift in the time-space-tweener girl continuum. So we're counting down the minutes to the results show. In the meantime...

Lunchtime Links: "Veronica Mars" DVDs, "Reaper" Pranks...

"Veronica Mars" season 3 DVDs are out and they look great. (BuzzSugar)

Sam is still a dumbass on "Reaper," but I love what Andi did to  the manager's car. (Seriously, OMG!)

"Heroes" just isn't ringing Kathie's bells anymore. Is the show going off the rails? (GMMR)

Troubled "Lost" actress Michelle Rodriguez was in and out of the bathroom at a party awhile ago, and bloggers said it must have been drugs. Wrong! She proved it by releasing drug test results. (TMZ)

Kristen Bell Joining "Heroes" For A Spell

Veronica_2 Wowza. After turning down "Lost," Kristen Bell is joining "Heroes" for a multi-episode story arc, Variety reports. The in-demand star of the late, lamented "Veronica Mars," will play Elle, a mysterious hottie with ties to key parts of the "Heroes" mythology. Supposedly she's coming on in October, with a bang, by committing a major crime. Bell's decision is already a noisemaker in Hollywood, though, as she was publicly courted for a role on "Lost" that she ultimately declined. According to Variety, other shows were pursuing her as well. Getting her is definitely a sign that "Heroes" has the big mo going into the fall.

Talking With "Veronica Mars" Creator Rob Thomas

Our friends at Blogcritics have an excellent interview with "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas about the end of that show and the start of the next one.

Veronica_2 Is there any truth to the rumours of a movie to wrap things up, or is that in the past now too?

No, that's not in the past. I have read recently that Veronica Mars fans have been sending Mars Bars, and I don't want to dampen their enthusiasm, but I have to say, it's not going to happen. Veronica Mars the TV series is gone. Unfortunately. Lord knows I would have loved for it to keep going. I did meet with DC Comics last week to talk about continuing Veronica Mars as a comic book, and I have some aspirations to write a feature script about Veronica. But the show is a thing of the past now.

"Veronica Mars" Is Dead, Rob Thomas Is Alive And Well

Veronica "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas says that fans sending Mars bars to the CW won't be able to pull off the same sort of miracle that "Jericho" fans did by sending nuts to CBS. "Veronica Mars the TV series is gone," he tells Blogcritics, before talking about his commitment to the new series "Miss/Guided."

MeeVee Exclusive! Interview with Veronica Mars Star Ken Marino and Paul Rudd

"Rob Thomas is awesome. He keeps bringing me back and giving me fun stuff. I'm just very thankful and happy to be on that show." -- Ken Marino

Paul_rudd_ken_marino2_2

On tonight's episode of Veronica Mars, Paul Rudd plays a washed-up musician caught up in a caper only Ms. Mars could solve. Paul's appearance on the show is not completely random. Both he and Ken Marino (aka Vinnie Van Lowe) are starring together in not one, but two independent comedies written by Marino, Diggers and The Ten.

In this "awesome" interview with the dynamic duo, Ken and Paul discuss their mutual love of Veronica Mars and predict the winner of American Idol. I caught up them at the South by Southwest Film Festival, where they were promoting The Ten.

Gmmr_logo_7_1Veronica Mars
Title: “Lord of the Pi’s”
Original Airdate: 11/21/06

After two truly stellar episodes, it’s pretty disappointing to see such a flat showing with this week’s episode, “Lord of the Pi’s”, particularly since it was scribed by one of my favorite Veronica Mars writers, Diane Ruggiero. Still, I felt better watching last night’s poor episode knowing that the show is already secure with its full season order.

GMMR Recap: Veronica Mars - Charlie Don't Surf

Gmmr_logo_7Veronica Mars
Title:
Charlie Don’t Surf
Original Airdate: 10/24/06

Much to Veronica’s dismay, Keith has kindly invited Logan over for a Mars family dinner. With strict instructions to stay clear of any topic that could allude to having seen Veronica naked, Logan tries to be the perfect boyfriend in front of dear old dad. Not to say dinner didn’t go well, but it probably would have gone a bit better if Veronica wasn’t so insistent with her rules of what could and couldn’t be discussed. Anyone else think this scene seemed a bit off? Keith has essentially known Logan for many, many years now, and Logan has been at Veronica’s with Keith on a few occasions, but they are playing it off like the two had never met. I guess this scene was for the newbies. But come on, we are three eps in…throw the newbies in the deep end and let them learn how to swim.

Give Me My Remote: Veronica Mars Season 3 is Back TONIGHT!!

Gmmr_logo_9 WARNING…this post contains some mild spoilers for the first two episodes of Veronica Mars. Spoiler Puritans beware!!

This is a big year for Veronica Mars. Not just the title character but the show. While Veronica finds herself at a new college, the show finds itself on a new network. And while Ms. Mars will try her best to avoid the Freshman 15, the show will be begging to gain 22…episodes that is. The critically acclaimed but viewer-starved show has only been picked up for 13 eps this season. So Veronica needs to make some new friends - fast, or else risk not being …ugh. You know what?…I’m not even going there. Veronica Mars needs some new eyes in front of their TVs, and that’s that!

GMMR News: Veronica Mars Update

Gmmr_logo_5 With a title like that, I hope I didn’t oversell it, but I do have a good amount of Veronica Mars news to share with you this morning.

First up…Veronica Mars Casting News

According to the ever fabulous Michael Ausiello, we can expect a few familiar faces sauntering about Neptune this year. In the never-ending search for Keith to finally replace the hideous Lianne Mars, the World’s Greatest Dad (besides my own of course) meets a sassy lady from his past. Well, truth be told, she’s not from Keith’s past, but rather Enrico Colantoni’s past.
